New years resolutions/goals

Monday, December 31, 2012

Between all the champagne drinking and Christmas dinners it was time to start thinking about 2013, a new year, new challenges, new people and probably much more! I like to think about the future, it's fun to daydream about what 2013 has in store for me, new years resolution and maybe some goals that I like to achieve in 2013. Like I said a few blogposts ago, I like making lists and setting goals for myself, it makes me want to work harder and it keeps me motivated (and for some strange reason it's the best feeling when you can scratch goal after goal of your list). New years resolutions, every single year I'm so excited to make them and think about what I want to change in the upcoming year, but unfortunately I'm quite the failure if it comes to fulfilling them.. However this year things are going to be different, first change, full fill those damn new years resolutions!

See more of the world: Let's kick off with the best one, travelling. Last year I've made an agreement with myself to travel more. I love to see as much of the world as possible so this resolution will probably be the biggest and most important one. The past year I went to London for the first time and fell completely in love with this beautiful, lively city, this year will probably be Paris, Berlin, Prague or Venice, I don't know yet.. it's hard to choose.

Get more experienced with your camera: Since I love photography I think this would be a great resolution/goal for 2013. 365 project, I think most of you people know about it. Every single day of 2013 I'll be making a photo of something that describes that day. Hopefully this way I'll get a bit more creative with my photograph skills! and ofcourse you'll end up with 365 pictures of 2013, that I eventually will get printed in a photobook. How cool?

Pay more attention to your blog: One of my favourite happenings of 2012 is definitely my blog, I started blogging 6 months ago and I loved it since! The past month I neglected my blog a bit and I missed it loads, this made me realise that my blog became a big part of me and it deserves more attention. I'll put more care in every single blogpost and try to make it a bit more personal. and ofcourse I will keep you updated on my 365 project.

Eat healthier: I think this resolution is quite popular with everyone, eat healthier (or sport more often). I love everything sweet and unhealthy and since this year I gained a few pounds. I'm not saying I'm fat or thick, because I'm not. My goal is therefore not to lose weight, but to just eat healthier. Wish me luck..

Live a little: I'm quite timid, I rather go for no as an answer instead of thinking about it and considering to just try it. The main resolution of 2013 will therefore be to be a bit more spontaneous, outgoing, to just live a little more! Some people take life a bit too serious, and I hate that, life is short so why not just make the best of it and enjoy it as much as possible. So 2013 is all about saying yes instead of taking the easy way out.

So this is my top 5 of new years resolutions. If I look back on 2012 I had an amazing year, achieved a lot of things and met loads of new people. Ofcourse I made some wrong choices and had some setbacks, but those just keep me going! Learn from your mistakes and use them to make the next year even better. I hope you all will have a fabulous new years eve with the ones you love and I wish you all a happy and loving 2013.

What are your new years resolutions?

Hugs,
Lara

  1. Those are some great resolutions! I am definitely taking on most of them for myself, especially "live a little". Your 365 project could definitely be a motivator!

    Happy new year! xo

    1. Happy new year Erica! The 365 project is definitely a motivator for me, however even after only 8 days I find it quite hard to maintain. Which is quite worrying..

  2. I'm glad you are setting your goals. I kinda always fail at that so I don't set anything and let things happen, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't
    Anyway.

    Happy new year Lara :)

  3. These are great resolutions! I too want to spend more time on my blog this coming year. 2012 was my first time doing it so I had to focus on branding + design, but now I feel like I can really focus on content!

  4. It's fun to look forward and think of the possibilities. Getting a job would probably be my first resolution so that I could do your top goal. I hope you can fulfil your dreams this year or at least get the ball rolling :)

  5. I've just discovered your blog and I love your layout. New follower :)

I went to Paris and Berlin last year, and I'm off to Venice in two weeks oddly! You should definitely go to Berlin, but choose a springtime/summertime month as I went in January and it was FREEEEZING! It snowed everyday and I wore two pairs of leggings everytime we left the hotel!

    Happy new year.

  6. Sounds like some great resolutions! I hear you on blogging more! My career is to write and blog, so often times my blog suffers. But I think with a little discipline and carving out more time during a day we can make it happen! ;) Like your other goals too for 2013.
